  6.      scientists, science educators and college or high school students.
  7. *  COMPUTERIZED PERIODIC TABLE AND ELEMENT INFORMATION DATABASE:  Over 50
  8.      items of information on each of the elements.
  9. *  FLASH-CARD LEARNING MODE:  Helps the student study the periodic table.
  10. *  CUSTOMIZEABLE TEXT VIEWER:  Allows the user to include additional
  11.      information for easy access.
  12. *  UNITS CONVERSION CALCULATOR:  Over 450 units of measure in 30
  13.      categories.  Enter a value and instantly convert it to any of the
  14.      corresponding units.
  15. *  CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS CALCULATOR:  A tool with which to manipulate the
  16.      parameters of a chemical solution and perform "what if" planning
  17.      prior to solution preparation.
  18. *  MOLECULAR WEIGHT CALCULATOR:  Enter any chemical formula and calculate
  19.      its molecular weight without having to look up the information in
  20.      printed tables.
  21. *  SOLVENT SELECTOR:  Provides important data for choosing the correct
  22.      solvent for solution preparation
  23. *  DILUTION CALCULATOR: Eliminates mistakes when calculating and performing
  24.      dilutions.

  26. The Integral Scientist is a hypertext style information utility for
  27. scientists, science educators and students. It includes a periodic table and
  28. element information database with over 50 items of information on each of the
  29. elements.  There is even a flash-card mode to help the student study the
  30. periodic table. A customizeable text viewer allows the user to include
  31. additional information for easy access.

  33. For the laboratory, The Integral Scientist provides the chemist with a tool
  34. with which to manipulate the parameters of a chemical solution and perform
  35. "what if" planning prior to solution preparation.  A solvent selector provides
  36. important data for choosing the correct solution solvent and a dilution
  37. calculator eliminates mistakes when performing dilutions.  The user may also
  38. enter any chemical formula and calculate its molecular weight without having
  39. to look up the information in printed tables.

  41. Included in The Integral Scientist is a Units Conversion Calculator with over
  42. 450 units of measure in 30 categories.  A unit value may be easily converted
  43. to any of the corresponding units.  Input and output values may be transposed
  44. and the current input value may be scaled. The user can determine if the
  45. conversion is exact or approximate and can view the complete list of
  46. conversion factors at the press of a key.  Category definitions are displayed
  47. when selecting the units category and the category of measure can be found
  48. easily by looking up an unfamiliar unit in the index.

  50. Throughout The Integral Scientist, instant help is available.  Context
  51. sensitive help windows and full-screen help are one key away and the entire
  52. user's guide is available on-line and will open to the proper chapter at the
  53. press of a key.  There is even a "map" so you won't get lost!  Science has
  54. never been so much fun, but the information is serious.

  57.             Installation How-To and Trouble-Shooting:

  60. Installing this program:

  62.   Place the distribution disk in a floppy drive.
  63.                   or
  64.   Copy the distribution files into an empty subdirectory
  65.  
  66.   Change to the drive or subdirectory containing the Integral Scientist files.
  67.   Type GO-ISE

  70. If for some reason the above installation technique should fail, try the
  71. following method:

  73.   For hard disk systems
  74.  
  75.     Copy all files into a subdirectory
  76.     Type _ISEA then respond Y to the query.
  77.     Repeat for _ISEB
  78.  
  79.   For floppy disk systems:

  81.     Insert this disk in drive A: and a blank formatted disk in drive B:
  82.     Copy all files except _isea.exe and _iseb.exe to B:
  83.     Type _ISEA B:  and respond to the query with Y.
  84.     If using 360k floppies, put another blank formatted disk in B:
  85.     Type _ISEB B:  and respond to the query with Y.
